In order to reach out to a larger client base, Oxfam India suggested enclosing a referral form in the Donor welcome pack which is sent to the new donors. It was also based on the fact that people tend to be more proactive towards a god cause when someone known to them is involved in the same.
Though not a very difficult task, we were faced with the challenge of keeping the requested information as minimum as possible. Because let’s accept it, no one likes to fill in long forms.
We ended up creating a small referral form having only the very necessary fields and out of those also, a couple of them were kept optional to give maximum convenience to the donor. We also suggested Oxfam to create a separate e-mail address exclusively for receiving donor references, thus making a referral further easier for a donor]]>
